• That every organization desire to reduce working capital by having inventory management and reduction in transport costs. They are receptive to the idea of getting their cargos as LCL (Less than Container Load) consolidations in smaller quantities.
• That different cultures view and understand business requirements differently. These perceptions and complexities can compound if there is no collaborative effort with inputs by all interested parties.
• That every Ship Owner constantly endeavors to keep the vessels fully supplied by delivering the stores and spare parts when the vessels cross junctions or hub ports.
• That every Ship Owner desires that someone should be able to offer them discerning options, empowering them to choose among different types of transport, packaging and varying quantities of materials, that can be moved within the set time frame, at costs which they are comfortable with.
• That a Ship Owner could require additional services or value additions to this service, in the form of air/sea freight combinations, customs clearance, warehousing, haulage, etc.
• That many a time, the vessels are only crossing the hub ports and do not have a scheduled stop or may pause for bunkers, this makes the work of the supply department difficult as they have to ensure delivery of the stores and spares during the small window of time available to intercept the vessel.
